Xsilva to showcase LightSpeed at Retail's BIG Show

First time a Mac-based POS system has appeared at NRF's annual exhibition

Retail's BIG Show 2010Montreal, Canada - November 16, 2009 - Xsilva Systems Inc., maker of LightSpeed, a comprehensive suite of easy-to-use tools for retailers, is set to become the first company to present a Mac-based point-of-sale (POS) system at the National Retail Federation's annual convention and exhibition, taking place in New York City in January 2010.

Over the last decade, the Mac has experienced record market-share gains and its appeal has attracted customers across a broad spectrum of industries - a success reflected by Apple's recent record quarterly profits. Thanks to the combined influence of a number of computing trends, such as the growing popularity of the iPhone as a viable business tool, the Mac is forging paths into new sectors, riding a growing wave of end-user affinity for the Apple experience.

The retail sector is now also coming around to the Mac's unique strengths. With the right software, the Mac makes a compelling retail technology platform, perfectly matched to a new generation of savvy retailers looking to achieve an Apple-centric business environment for their stores. With LightSpeed, Mac-based retail is now a price-competitive option for the next generation of retailers, offering a point-of-sale solution built around the Apple experience that they want to adopt in their businesses.

LightSpeed combines a powerful POS for front-counter retail with back-office functions such as inventory management, purchasing, order processing and reporting. A key focus for Xsilva at the NRF exhibition will be LightSpeed 3.0, its major upcoming release that features a new point-of-sale user interface, exciting new features for multi-store retailers, and expanded support for the latest version of Xsilva's e-commerce solution, Web Store.

Web Store is an add-on to LightSpeed that provides retailers with a visually stunning e-commerce site that engages online shoppers with customizable templates. Visitors to a LightSpeed Web Store are greeted by rich product visuals and a clean design that delivers an elegant and stylish look and feel inspired by Apple's online store.

"We are looking forward to Xsilva's first appearance at NRF, a fact that reflects this company's ambition to build on our strong foothold in the Apple community, and to reach out to the broader retail market with LightSpeed 3.0," said Dax Dasilva, founder and CEO of Xsilva Systems. "In addition to meeting with retailers, we are also keen to speak with the channel partners that serve the industry and who may be interested to learn about how Xsilva can present exciting new revenue possibilities."

During the show, NRF hosts 17,500 retail professionals from 62 countries. The exhibition runs from January 11 - 12, 2010, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
