Montreal, Canada - January 5, 2009 - Xsilva Systems Inc., maker of a comprehensive suite of retail tools tailored for the Mac, is offering previews and demonstrations of its latest products for retailers in search of powerful and elegant solutions for their business while exhibiting at the 2009 Macworld Conference and Expo taking place January 5 to 9 at San Francisco's Moscone Center.

Visitors to Xsilva's booth will be treated to a sneak peak at LightSpeed 3.0, expected to ship in the spring of 2009. LightSpeed combines a powerful point-of-sale (POS) solution for front-counter retail with back-office functions such as inventory management, order processing and billing. Version 3.0 will feature a new point-of-sale screen, a host of new features for multi-store retailers and support for the latest version of Xsilva's e-commerce solution, Web Store 2.0.

"LightSpeed 3.0 builds on the elegance and ease of use of previous versions to provide new features and functionality critical to running an efficient multi-store retail operation," said Dax Dasilva, founder, CEO and vice-president, development at Xsilva Systems. "Our goal with LightSpeed has always been to provide a complete product that creates a business lifestyle. We look forward to demonstrating at Macworld why LightSpeed has attracted thousands of businesses with its powerful and visually rich suite of retail tools for the Mac."

Macworld is the premier marketplace for companies that sell, market or promote products, services, or solutions for the Mac OS platform. Over 40,000 Mac enthusiasts attend Macworld each year to see, evaluate and purchase products and services from over 500 exhibiting companies.

LightSpeed 3.0 includes a new point-of-sale screen that features:

  • An all-new interface with streamlined operation to increase transaction speed
  • Button mode for fast-paced touch-screen sales environments
  • Versatile sidebar configurable to adapt to different styles of retailing
  • Parking for transactions

New multi-store features include:

  • Product replication across multiple store locations
  • Cross-store gift cards and returns
  • Cross-store sales and inventory reports

Visitors to Xsilva's booth can also see a demonstration of Web Store 2.0, which will ship in January. Web Store is an add-on to the LightSpeed suite of retail tools that is purchased separately.

Web Store 2.0 provides retailers with a visually stunning PHP- and CSS-based e-commerce site that engages online shoppers with fully customizable templates. Visitors to a retail site employing Web Store are greeted by rich product visuals and a clean design that delivers an elegant and stylish look and feel inspired by Apple Inc.'s online store.

Macworld attendees interested in learning more are encouraged to visit Xsilva at booth 314 in the South Hall during regular exhibit hours between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Tuesday, January 6, to Friday, January 9.
