    What is a LightSpeed User License?

    The number of user licenses represents the number of computers that can be simultaneously logged into LightSpeed. For example: With a 3 user license you can have LightSpeed installed on an unlimited number of computers, 3 of which can be logged in at the same time. A LightSpeed user license includes access to LightSpeed's full functionality. The Web Store module is sold separately. With every new purchase of LightSpeed, the customer receives access to 30 days of telephone support, free upgrades and updates. After the initial 30 day period has expired, the customer may choose to purchase a 12 Month Support and Upgrades Subscription, without which they will retain access only to online support via email.

    What is a Bundle?

    A 'Bundle' is a grouping of Xsilva products sold at a discounted price. For example: The cost of a 'Good Bundle', which groups a LightSpeed User License and a Support and Upgrades Subscription, is less than the cost of purchasing the same two items separately.     What are Upgrades and Updates?

    Upgrades are changes in the major version number of the product and generally refer to the addition of major functionality to the software. For example, you would upgrade from version 1.0 to 1.1, or version 5.5 to 6.0. Upgrades are free to new customers (customers still their initial 30 day period) and those covered by a 12 Month Support and Upgrades Subscription.

    Updates are changes in the minor version number of the product and generally refer to bug fixes and the addition of minor functionality. For example, you would update version 4.0.2 to version 4.0.3. Updates are free to all customers owning the major version being updated.

    What is a Support and Upgrades Subscription?

    Upon purchasing a Support and Upgrades Subscription a customer is granted a period of 12 months during which they have access to live telephone tech support and free LighSpeed upgrades. A customer covered by a Support and Upgrades Subscription can call our tech support staff at any time during regular business hours with upgrades made available to subscription owners on xsilva.com. For example: A customer not covered by a subscription and running LightSpeed version 2.5 wishes to upgrade to version 2.6 will need to pay the stated price for that upgrade. The same customer could purchase a Support and Upgrades Subscription and upgrade immediately to version 2.6, then upgrade to any subsequent versions (2.8, 2.9, 3.0) released within the 12 months covered by their subscription. New customers buying a subscription will extend their 30 day coverage to 13 months.

    What is included in a Hardware Kit?

    A Hardware Kit is a grouping of LightSpeed-compatible POS hardware products, discounted for sale as part of a 'Better' or 'Best' bundle. Composed of the most popular hardware items for retail businesses getting started with LightSpeed, the Hardware Kit includes the following:

    • Star Micronics 'TSP-100' receipt printer with 50 rolls of paper
    • Black APG Vasario USB cash drawer
    • DYMO 'LabelWriter 400 Turbo' label printer with roll of 500 labels
    • ID Tech 'Mini Mag' Credit Card Swipe
    • Black Honeywell 'Voyager' USB Bar Code Scanner with Stand

    What is included in a Specialized Hosting Package?

    Specialized hosting packages are available from Xsilva at $299 USD for 6 months and $499 USD for 1 year. SSL security certificates are available at $199 USD for a 1 year term.

    Specialized turn-key Web Store hosting from Xsilva saves your business the headache of having to set up and maintain your own e-commerce site and online database servers. SSL security protects the privacy of your shoppers' payment information, while automated updates mean your online storefront can benefit immediately from new Web Store features and fixes as they are released.

    What are LightSpeed Modules?

    Modules are special LightSpeed-integrated software packages which extend the application's performance and are sold separately.

    • The Web Store module is a customizable online shopping cart, allowing your business to create e-commerce site from its LightSpeed database with a single click. For more information see our Grow Online section.
    • On-Target Reports XLS allow LightSpeeds customers to build and save their own ad-hoc reports.

All sales are final. Xsilva software products are not eligible for return or refund. A Free 30 Day Trial of LightSpeed is available. Please evaluate the Trial and decide whether the product is best for your business. Once a credit card payment to Xsilva has been processed and the license keys have been sent, all sales are final.
